Short Stories

The Flycatcher: My first published short story, published in the Dec 2022 edition of Byline. Garrick is worried about the future of his home, his community. When the worst happens, his friends come together to help, but is it enough? Read the story here!

Team Bob: My second published short story! This piece came in second in the 2024 Lanark Lit Writing Competition. The judges described it as an “imaginative, humourous, and well-written work of dystopian eco-fiction”. Read the story here!

The Life Print: This story was published in Elegant Literature’s October 2025 issue as part of their monthly contest series. The prompt was Message Received and the word was seal. It’s a different story than I normally write but it was such an intriguing concept to me. Read the story in Issue #47 here!

Blood Iron: Fantasy story published in Elegant Literature’s March 2026 issue! The theme was Ink & Iron with the word vein. The moment I read the theme, the first scene in this story popped into my head so I knew I had to write it. I really loved this piece and was so excited to have it published. Read Blood Iron in Issue #52 here!

Micro-fiction

This world. I wrote this 100 word microfiction piece as part of a NYC Midnight contest and even though I didn’t move to the next round, I received an honourable mention and I quite like it. The story had to be a ghost story containing the word rash and the action of raising a fist. Read it here!

Daydreamer. My second 100 word microfiction piece and this time it got a 3rd place finish, moving me on to the second round! The story genre was action/adventure and we had to include the action of smiling and the word plastic. I loved this story because it embodies how I feel most days 🙂 Read it here!
